Minnesota Vikings training camp brought some more notable takeaways from drills on Wednesday, Aug. 4 as the team padded for workouts and drills on Day 7.

The second day of training camp where the Minnesota Vikings were wearing pads has concluded. Wednesday’s activities solidified quite a few things that the team was doing in earlier drills while opening the door for other opportunities.

Of course. most of the quarterbacks were still away from team facilities due to COVID-19 protocol but Kirk Cousins, Kellen Mond, and Nate Stanley should be eligible to return to the field for Thursday’s drills.

The offense should look better when it returns to full strength but Jake Browning did an admirable job of stepping in to run things in their absence and will likely be a top contender to be the team’s backup quarterback this season.

Less than two weeks remain until the Minnesota Vikings take the field for their first preseason contest and more decisions will need to be made as to who to keep and who will fail to make the roster or the practice squad.

Let’s take a look at some of the biggest takeaways from Wednesday, Aug. 5, and how they could impact the team this season.
