Pass-catchers making some big plays

There have been quite a few standouts from Minnesota Vikings training camp so far. The emergence of K.J. Osborn has been the most eye-opening after his disappointing rookie season, but he wasn’t the only pass-catcher raising eyebrows on Wednesday.

Once again, Irv Smith Jr. put on a show by grabbing two touchdowns from Jake Browning. Eric Smith shared on Twitter that the pair of receptions came from 12 and 25 yards out during 11-on-11 drills.

The Vikings.com reporter also gave a shout-out to Chad Beebe in his post on the team’s official website. He had a diving catch for a touchdown in red-zone drills that opened some eyes around the practice field.

Fans have come to expect amazing catches from Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson but to see the players on the depth chart behind them working hard to make big plays is a great sign. If the team can have solid depth behind those two Pro Bowl receivers, then things could become much easier for Kirk Cousins this season.
