I shot the Scherff
A lot has been made about the right guard position. Many assumed that it would be easily won by rookie Wyatt Davis or former Cardinals blocker Mason Cole with the returning players being backups or rotational pieces.
That doesn’t seem to be the case. Oli Udoh made the move from tackle to guard for this season and offensive line coach Phil Rauscher feels really good about the transition he is making so far during training camp but also likes the move of Ezra Cleveland to the interior of the line.
According to Courtney Cronin on Twitter, Ezra Cleveland’s move reminds him of his time with Washington when Brandon Scherff moved to the interior of the line and found a lot of success in the transition.
The coach added that he feels Cleveland and Scherff share a lot of qualities. Let’s hope that he is right and Cleveland can be a stabilizing force for the Minnesota Vikings offensive line for many years to come.
