Cue the 80s style workout montage

Head coach Mike Zimmer isn’t the kind of person to mince words. His straightforward approach to communication is nice, but when he makes a statement about his team it usually means it is something that is truly on his mind.

Courtney Cronin revealed on Twitter that Day 11 of training camp might be the longest yet with the team’s head coach stating that the team needs to get in better shape and be better conditioned when the season rolls around.

Sports Illustrated’s Will Ragatz shared the quote:

"“I feel like we have to get in better shape than what we are right now,” Zimmer said. “I told the team that the other day. I’m not worried about the beginning of the game; I’m worried about the fourth quarter.”"

Zimmer kept the team working until around 4:05 PM on a day that featured hot and humid weather. Hopefully, this will build up their stamina and keep the best players possible on the field for longer durations.

The Minnesota Vikings seem very serious about preparing for the upcoming season and want to leave absolutely nothing up to chance. Driving the team to work extra hard now could pay off in a big way as long as the players aren’t pushed too far.
