Doink!

Since this was only a walkthrough today, there wasn’t a whole lot to pick apart. The return of Kellen Mond was nice to see, but otherwise, this was a short day for everyone to prepare for the upcoming joint practices and the preseason game.

Eric Smith shared a video on Twitter of four Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks working on their pass accuracy by throwing the ball at the crossbar of the uprights. The results were a little surprising.

Jake Browning beating out Cousins, Mond, and Etling is a little eye-opening. The competition wasn’t even really close, with Browning showing why he has earned the right to be the team’s backup quarterback for the 2021 NFL season by nailing the crossbar on five out of his eight throws.

While fans shouldn’t read too much into this drill, it seems like a fun way to add a little friendly rivalry to what would otherwise be a boring event. Still, it’s nice to see the quarterbacks working together after having several of them missing due to COVID-19 restrictions earlier in camp.
