What was learned during the Week 1 preseason game between the Minnesota Vikings and Denver Broncos on Aug. 14, 2021?

It feels like forever since the Minnesota Vikings took the field for a televised football game. Fans got their first taste of action during Week 1 of the preseason when the Denver Broncos came to town for a clash at U.S. Bank Stadium

Sadly, it was a one-sided affair in Minneapolis. The Broncos had their way with the Vikings in every phase of the game and the purple and gold didn’t look prepared for anything that Denver threw at them offensively or defensively.

The final score of 6-33 doesn’t even represent how out of hand this game was. During the game, Minnesota failed to score a touchdown and was forced to settle for two field goals while Denver got touchdowns out of two of their three quarterbacks.

Even though this was a crushing defeat, there was quite a bit to dissect from Week 1 of the preseason. Let’s take a look at some observations that will help to put the outcome of this game into perspective.
