After sitting on the sidelines for more than a week with a sprained AC joint, Minnesota Vikings wide receiver Justin Jefferson returned to practice on Monday.
It was a familiar feeling for Minnesota Vikings fans a little less than two weeks ago when star receiver Justin Jefferson went down during a practice with what looked to be a painful injury.
Vikings fans have dealt with terribly unpredictable circumstances for more than 50 years and Jefferson’s injury just felt like it was going to become the latest in a long list of heartbreaks.
However, the Minnesota receiver was diagnosed with a sprained AC joint and the team didn’t believe his injury was going to keep him out of action for very long. Well, on Monday, the Vikings were proven to be correct.
Justin Jefferson returns to practice for the Minnesota Vikings after missing a week
Following their blowout preseason loss to the Denver Broncos this past weekend, Minnesota returned to the practice fields at the TCO Performance Center on Monday.
According to multiple reports, Jefferson was among the players who were suited up in their pads for the practice session. The Vikings kept it easy on him during his first day back though as he reportedly participated in only a small amount of the team’s 11-on-11 portion of the practice according to the Star Tribune’s Andrew Krammer.
Jefferson’s return is great news for Minnesota as they prepare for their second preseason game against the Indianapolis Colts this Saturday, August 21.
Even though it still seems highly unlikely that Jefferson will play any snaps during this year’s preseason, the Vikings can at least breathe a sigh of relief knowing that the talented receiver is on track to take the field for the team’s regular-season opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on September 12.
