If the Minnesota Vikings want to return to the playoffs during the 2021 NFL season,r they will need to avoid making these three big mistakes.

During the offseason, the Minnesota Vikings made great strides toward assembling a team that could contend for a Super Bowl. Many fans are hopeful that this new-look Vikings squad has what it takes to be the top dog on a weekly basis.

Before fans start getting lost in the hype of a Super Bowl run, it’s a good idea to keep some of last season’s mistakes in mind. The Vikings could’ve (and should’ve) earned a spot in the wildcard round,  but shot themselves in the foot too many times to make an actual run for it.

During the 2020 season, it was quite easy to spot moments where the Vikings committed an avoidable mistake that would cost them games in the win column. Among those mistakes, three weaknesses in the hull of the Vikings’ playoff ship stood out very clearly, and should be addressed before departing into the deep blue sea for another NFL season.

These inadequacies could’ve been avoided and corrected early, but were allowed to drag on throughout the year, resulting in all playoff hopes being tossed into the recycle bin. With renewed hope that this year’s Vikings team will be fighting for the Lombardi Trophy, it’s time to break down how these areas could be improved in 2021.
