Vikings vs. Colts: 5 takeaways from Week 2 of the Preseason

Special teams bounced back
This week was a rough week for punter Britton Colquitt. With no competition on the roster, the Minnesota Vikings brought in a punter for a tryout after he struggled against the Broncos in the preseason last week.
It’s a good thing the Vikings didn’t do anything too drastic. Colquitt rebounded from last week with a great game as both a punter and a holder. He punted eight times with an average of 46.1 yards and three of those landing inside the 20-yard line.
It wasn’t just Colquitt that looked good, the return units shined too. Ihmir Smith-Marsette looked good as a punt returner when he had a nice 17-yard return. He also had two kick returns for 63 yards, including one very nice 41-yard return.
The only real complaint that can be made is kicker Greg Joseph missing one of his two field-goal tries. That miss was from 51 yards out and was slightly wide right, now that shouldn’t be too much of a knock on the Minnesota Vikings kicker.
