Alexander Mattison – RB

There are about three weeks until the 2021 regular season begins, and that’s plenty of time for a team to lose one of their top running backs to an injury.

If a team’s top running back gets hurt during these next few weeks and they are forced to miss a significant amount of time, Alexander Mattison is someone who could be looked at as a possible replacement for that injured player.

Mattison is currently heading into his third season with the Vikings, and he’s still got a firm grip on the No. 2 running back job behind Dalvin Cook.

However, with the addition of rookie Kene Nwangwu to the offensive backfield this year, Minnesota might be willing to part ways with Mattison for the right price.

If a team in need of a running back offers the Vikings a third-round pick in exchange for Mattison, that’s a trade that is probably going to be difficult for Minnesota general manager Rick Spielman to turn down.
