Minnesota’s offense will score a touchdown
Mike Zimmer is upset with his offense and we haven’t even reached the regular season. Speaking with reporters on Monday, Zimmer groaned over his team’s performance this preseason and stated a simple goal for Friday’s game against the Chiefs.
What does Mike Zimmer want to see from the Vikings offense this week and Friday in KC? "Touchdowns, to be honest with you. ... If you’re going to throw 5-yard checkdowns all day long, it takes 20 of them, so. We’d like to get the ball down the field a little bit more.”

Scoring a touchdown may be more difficult than it sounds, thanks to what the Vikings will be without on Friday. Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson haven’t played the entire preseason, and Adam Thielen is not expected to play after suffering a thigh bruise in last week’s loss to the Colts.
It also puts offensive coordinator Klint Kubiak in a tough spot. While the first-year offensive coordinator doesn’t want to open his entire playbook, it might benefit him to avoid the type of conflict that has doomed Norv Turner, John DeFilippo, and others during their time in Minnesota.
That’s why it’s likely the Vikings will be aggressive and show just enough to find the end zone on Friday.
