The hope was that the Minnesota Vikings could improve their offensive line in free agency and the draft to have a unit Kirk Cousins could trust to protect him. Sadly, things didn’t quite go as planned for the team.

Minnesota cut Riley Reiff, one of their best offensive linemen, and drafted Christian Darrisaw in the first round. Darrisaw has been struggling with an injury and if he can’t play, that means Rashod Hill will need to hold down the left tackle spot.

Things don’t get any better on the interior. Rookie Wyatt Davis will start the season as a backup and returning backup Oli Udoh will get the start at right guard while last year’s right guard moves to left guard. Hopefully, the game of musical chairs pays off for the Vikings.

Otherwise, Mason Cole should serve as the primary backup to Garrett Bradbury and Dakota Dozier acts as a backup guard if needed.

Until Darrisaw can return to the lineup, he might act as the backup for Rashod Hill at left tackle. However, if he can’t go, Zack Bailey will likely take his spot on the 53-man roster.
