The Vikings already have Adam Thielen and Justin Jefferson, arguably the best wide receiver duo in the entire NFL. Throughout the offseason, Minnesota has been looking for a third receiver to complement them and handle a fair number of receptions this year to keep defenses occupied.

The Vikings signed wide receiver Dede Westbrook not long ago and he appears to have settled in relatively well. Westbrook has taken on return duties for special teams and it had been assumed by most that he would end up being Minnesota’s No. 3 receiver this season.

However, this does not seem to be the case, and the battle for that third receiver spot is still up for grabs. One of the main candidates, Chad Beebe, was put on the injured reserve list this week, ending his season and opening up a spot to potentially add another wide receiver.

Golden Tate has been one of the most reliable slot receivers in his career. His ability to make plays after the catch is what makes him such a desirable option for the Vikings. Opposing defenses would have to account for him because he has big-play potential every time he touches the ball.
