Player 2: Danielle Hunter – Defensive End

Last season the Vikings couldn’t buy a pass rush. Even after trading for defensive end Yannick Ngakoue, the Minnesota Vikings just could not get to the quarterback. The team finished the season 28th in total sacks with 23. This didn’t help our rookie cornerbacks, since the opposing quarterback could stand in the pocket unfazed for as long as he pleases. A lack of pass rush impacts the entire defense regardless of how well you cover.

Danielle Hunter is the youngest player ever to reach 50 sacks. Hunter alone gets close to 15 sacks a season when healthy. His absence was felt more than perhaps anyone else.  With Hunter on the team, the Vikings are instantly a more frightening opposition to go against. At any point, he can wreck an opposing team’s entire game plan.

A healthy Danielle Hunter, along with the other pieces the Vikings have added across the defensive line, will be one of the most terrifying units to go up against in all of football.
