Player 3: Kirk Cousins – Quarterback

Contrary to popular belief amongst Vikings fans, quarterback Kirk Cousins is actually a very good player. Although the Vikings have had a bottom 10 offensive line for the last 3 years, Cousins has managed to make plays week in and week out.

There is no doubt that the Vikings are a run-heavy team. Minnesota only attempted passes on 54% of their offensive snaps last season. Still, Kirk Cousins threw for 4265 yards and 35 touchdowns and completed 68 percent of his passes. Kirk was extremely efficient last season, even though the Vikings did not throw the ball much. However, when they did, Kirk was accurate and made the necessary plays.

The best ability is availability and Kirk Cousins never misses a game. He is always ready to play and leaves it all out there. A few questionable decisions should not cloud anyone’s judgment. The Minnesota Vikings need Kirk Cousins to be healthy and playing at a high level for them to have any chance of making a run in the playoffs.
