Which matchups should the Minnesota Vikings be excited about in Week 1 against the Cincinnati Bengals?

It’s time for a brand new season of Minnesota Vikings football, and what better way to kick things off than against a struggling franchise from the opposing conference? The stakes are not all that high for the Vikings as they attempt to shake off the rust from last season. the Cincinnati Bengals are trending in the right direction finally, but they still need some time.

Minnesota went out and added a lot of veterans to fill holes on defense while addressing the offense through the draft. Even with Christian Darrisaw likely missing the early part of the season, the Vikings have done enough to clean up the offensive line for now.

A brand new secondary brings optimism to the roster after last year’s disaster, and the return of several key players from injury will certainly help the Vikings. Danielle Hunter, Eric Kendricks, Anthony Barr, and Michael Pierce all missed significant time last season, but they will be back this year.

With the Bengals on the schedule to kick off the season, Minnesota will be tested on defense. Joe Burrow was sensational as a rookie before going down with an injury, but the weapons around him are dangerous. Joe Mixon, Tee Higgins, Tyler Boyd, and Ja’Marr Chase are all exceptional talents on offense.
