After the Minnesota Vikings suffered a tough loss on Sunday, their fan base was able to experience some happiness while watching the Green Bay Packers get destroyed.

When one decides to become a fan of the Minnesota Vikings, the decision to despise the Green Bay Packers is also made.

Disliking the Packers is one of the most important requirements when it comes to someone choosing the Vikings as their favorite NFL team.

So after Minnesota suffered a tough overtime loss in their 2021 season-opener to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, most fans of the purple and gold likely felt that their afternoon was ruined. That was at least until Green Bay took the field for their Week 1 matchup with the New Orleans Saints.

Minnesota Vikings fans enjoy watching the Green Bay Packers get blown out in Week 1

After winning 13 games and making it to the NFC Championship last season, the Packers and quarterback Aaron Rodgers were favored to win their 2021 opener against the Saints on Sunday.

Green Bay, however, clearly wasn’t ready for a New Orleans team that is now led by Jameis Winston under center. Winston and the Saints dropped a hammer on Green Bay, cruising to an easy 38-3 win over the green and gold cheeseheads.

Winston didn’t even throw for 150 passing yards on Sunday, but five of his 20 pass attempts did result in touchdowns for New Orleans.

As for Rodgers, he finished with just 133 yards, no touchdowns, two interceptions, and a wonderful 36.8 quarterback rating. Unlike his highly publicized summer, the Packers signal-caller did not look like he was enjoying himself on Sunday (how sad).

So as disappointing as it was to watch the Vikings fall by three points in overtime in a road matchup against the Bengals on Sunday, at least Minnesota fans didn’t have to watch their favorite team get blown out by 35 points.

Rodgers should probably just retire and become the new host of “Jeopardy” now before things get any worse, right?
