The kicker situation is far from fixed

Odds are that many of you were waiting for this part. Greg Joseph made fans excited last week when he hit a long, clutch field goal to send the game against the Bengals to overtime. However, that magic wasn’t present in the desert.

A missed extra point put the Minnesota Vikings in an odd position throughout much of the game, swapping leads while Matt Prater showed off his accuracy and big leg for Arizona on nearly every trip into Vikings territory.

The biggest miss of all came at the end of the game when a 37-yard field goal from the middle of the field sailed wide right and shocked many fans who were hoping that the kicking woes of the Vikings wouldn’t be their downfall again.

Sadly, it was. All the pain of missed kicks from the past came flying back into the heads of Vikings fans and being able to trust Joseph to make kicks again will be difficult. Sure, he hit two 52 yard field goals on the day as well, but those good kicks were quickly overshadowed by his two miscues on Sunday.
