Greg Joseph – K

The Vikings kicking situation came back to haunt them one more time in Arizona. Greg Joseph received accolades from many Vikings fans and writers for his performance against the Bengals. Those same fans and writers are telling a different story this week.

Joseph started the game off strong hitting his first two extra-point attempts. He then missed an extra point, and that missed point kept hanging around tormenting the Vikings every time Arizona would score. That missed kick was soon forgotten as Joseph became the next in line of cursed Vikings’ kickers.

The Vikings got the ball back late in the game, and Kirk Cousins and the offense brilliantly moved the ball down to the Cardinals’ 19-yard line, setting up a routine field goal for Joseph. The kick would’ve given the Vikings the win, but it was pulled right resulting in the Vikings’ second loss of the season.

It can be argued that Mike Zimmer should have moved the ball a little closer since he had one time out remaining and over 40 seconds on the clock, but that is a kick that a professional kicker should make every single time. It’s his job, and he failed at it, and that is very disappointing.
