Barr will miss his third straight game
While Cook will crawl onto the field at U.S. Bank Stadium, it’s uncertain what will happen to Anthony Barr. The linebacker has missed the past two games with a knee injury and didn’t seem confident about his availability when asked by reporters on Thursday.
“I’m not sure yet,” Barr said. “I would love to I want to make sure I’m 100 percent.”
The Vikings believe that Barr’s presence helps them do a lot of things defensively. In two games without Barr, the Vikings have allowed an average of 31.5 points per game but also have benefitted from the emergence of Nick Virgil.
Barr was optimistic that the worst of his injury is behind him, but he didn’t sound like a player that was going to suit up on Sunday. While Barr’s return could come soon, it probably will take another week until he’s back on the field.
