5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Seattle Seahawks – Week 3
By Chris Schad
Wilson will improve to 8-0 against the Vikings
There are going to be many things going in the Vikings’ favor, but the one constant is Russell Wilson. The Seahawks quarterback has never lost to the Vikings, and there are plenty of reasons to believe that streak will continue on Sunday.
The Vikings’ secondary has been a disaster through the first two games and runs right into the “Let Russ Cook” buzzsaw. With D.K. Metcalf matched up against Patrick Peterson, leaving Tyler Lockett against Bashaud Breeland, who has allowed a 156.3 passer rating in the first two games.
Minnesota has the weapons to keep up with this passing attack, but it’s a bigger concern as to whether they’ll actually use them. Although Kirk Cousins came out on fire last week, Zimmer pumped the brakes to hand off to Cook, and the Vikings fell by a point.
The same scenario could play out here where a younger, faster offense forces the issue against a team that wants to hold the ball. If that happens, Wilson will remain undefeated, and the Vikings will slide to 0-3.
