Feeding off Everson

I’ll admit, I wasn’t a huge fan of bringing back Everson Griffen. I was prepared to move forward with D.J. Wonnum and an assortment of young players and veterans to pair with Danielle Hunter as pass-rushing bookends.

Everson Griffen proved me wrong on Sunday. He brought energy and intensity to the defensive line when in the game. He showed he still has an arsenal of moves to deploy against blockers to get two hits on Russel Wilson with one of them resulting in a sack.

So far this year, Everson hasn’t seemed like a distraction to the team. In fact, his veteran leadership could help young players on the defensive line become more comfortable in their abilities and learn some tips and tricks from Griffen.

Getting to Russel Wilson can be a massive challenge. Minnesota was only able to sack the Seahawks quarterback twice. Still, thanks to Griffen and company, the day was made a bit more uncomfortable for the Super Bowl XLVIII champion.
