Kirk Cousins deserves to be in the MVP conversation
Three weeks into the NFL season and Minnesota Vikings fans have no reason to be upset with the performance of Kirk Cousins. Sure, people might wish his salary cap was lower or that he was a bit more exciting of a player, but it’s hard to argue with his results.
Cousins lit up the scoreboard on Sunday. He completeed 30 of his 38 pass attempts for 323 yards and three touchdowns while getting rid of the ball quickly to only absorb one sack from the Seahawks defense.
There was no other word to use for the play of Cousins against Seattle than decisive. His throws were deliberate and accurate, keeping the ball away from the Seahawks while putting his player in the best position to get the football.
Through three weeks, Cousins as thrown for 918 yards while throwing eight touchdowns and zero interceptions. He has completed 74 percent of his passes and has a 118.3 rating. He has every right to be part of the MVP conversation and would likely be a favorite if this team was 3-0 and not 1-2.
