Dalvin Tomlinson – DT

Dalvin Tomlinson has been on the disappointing list every single game this season and for good reason. The Vikings’ run defense has been a major sore spot all season long and this guy was supposed to be a big part of the fix. He isn’t doing his job and Minnesota has continued to give up large chunks of yardage on the ground.

The Vikings gave up over 100 yards on the ground for the third straight game. Seattle’s starting running back, Chris Carson, toted the rock 12 times for 80 yards for a 6.7 yards a carry average. That is way too much.

Tomlinson was supposed to be able to eat up blocks and clog running lanes, and instead, Minnesota’s defense looks very much the same way it did in 2020 when it comes to shutting down the running game.

The Vikings’ defense did tighten up in the second half and that was great to see. But the fact that Tomlinson registered just two tackles on the day is extremely underwhelming. He just isn’t doing what Minnesota paid him all that money to do.

Russell Wilson’s arm is the strength of the Seahawks’ offense and not their rushing attack. That won’t be the case next week for the Vikings when the Browns come to town.

Cleveland has a great duo in Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt and will be looking to run the ball early and often. If Tomlinson doesn’t step up his game, Minnesota could find themselves back in the loss column.
