5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Cleveland Browns – Week 4
By Chris Schad
Thielen will score another touchdown
You may be thinking, “These are supposed to be bold predictions!” This is true but when it comes to avoiding touchdown regression, Adam Thielen is as bold as it gets.
Thielen is off to another fast start when it comes to finding the end zone. After scoring 14 touchdowns last season, Thielen has four scores in the first three games this year. This has helped Kirk Cousins get off to a fast start while also earning a comparison to another Viking great.
“I just get a chuckle out of the touchdowns,” Cousins said. “I told him after the Cincinnati game, ‘You’re like Cris Carter.’ Just scoring touchdowns over and over and over.”
While Cousins said that Thielen just happens to be the read he throws to, his top red-zone target has another pristine matchup against the Browns. First-round pick Greg Newsome will miss Sunday’s game with a calf injury, leaving Thielen and Justin Jefferson matched up with Greedy Williams.
Williams hasn’t started a game in nearly two years, so there’s a great chance Thielen finds the end zone on Sunday.
