Minnesota has a big hole to climb out of

1-3. That’s a pretty brutal record. When you consider that the three losses are by a total of 11 points with two of them being three or less, it is a little easier to know that the Vikings aren’t a garbage team.

That said, moral victories won’t get a team into the playoffs. They need to beat these teams they hang with until the final moments instead of falling short and attempting to learn from what went wrong.

Theoretically, the Vikings should be able to beat the winless Detroit Lions in Week 5. They will likely be heavy favorites as the home team and could get back on track against them. However, after that, things get rough.

Minnesota’s remaining games on the schedule are brutal and they will need to squeeze out every win they can if they hope to catch up to the Green Bay Packers in the division or earn a Wild Card playoff spot this year.
