Eric Bieniemy

Current RoleOffensive Coordinator, Kansas City Chiefs

Most around the NFL expected Eric Bieniemy to be hired as a head coach after he helped the Chiefs make the Super Bowl two seasons ago. Now in his fourth year as the Kansas City offensive coordinator, Bieniemy is likely going to be the target of several teams that will be in search of a new head coach during the 2022 offseason.

Vikings ownership and members of the front office are already very familiar with the current Chiefs offensive coordinator. That’s because Bieniemy’s first coaching job in the NFL was with Minnesota as the team’s running backs coach in 2006.

He was even promoted to assistant head coach in addition to his duties as the team’s running backs coach during his final season with the Vikings in 2010. So there’s a bit of familiarity there that might give Minnesota an advantage over some other teams that could be interested in making Bieniemy their new head coach next year.
