Detroit is hurting

Coming into this season, the offense of the Detroit Lions wasn’t impressive at all on paper. They have a ragtag group of receivers and put a lot of their hopes into their starting tight end and stable of running backs to keep them in games.

Not only that but trading Matt Stafford for Jared Goff was a downgrade of rather large proportions and losing Kenny Golladay to the Giants stings as well. Even though they had a pretty solid draft, the Lions are clearly rebuilding this year.

That’s not to say they can’t be competitive. However, keeping pace with other teams while dealing with injuries to the major contributors is going to make things tough on Detroit. That is especially key considering their final injury report.

T.J. Hockenson, D’Andre Swift, Penei Sewell, and Jamaal Williams are all listed as questionable while they also have 12 players on the Injured/Reserved list and two players on the Reserve/Non-Football Injury list.

A winless team as banged up as the Lions are should be handled by the Vikings on Sunday and let’s hope Minnesota can do the job they need to do in order to get the win.
