5 biggest takeaways from the Vikings win over the Lions in Week 5

The offense needs a tune-up
When you look at a roster that includes players like Adam Thielen, Justin Jefferson, Dalvin Cook, and Kirk Cousins, expectations should be high for the offense to score some points and put pressure on opposing teams to keep pace.
Instead, the Minnesota Vikings offense has been anything but a powerhouse lately. After a hot start to the year, the team has only been able to muster one touchdown in each of their last two games while relying on their kicker to put points on the board.
There are plenty of fingers to point. A lack of creativity in playcalling could be a huge reason for their struggles. Or it could be the struggles of their offensive line. Or not playing Christian Darrisaw when he is clearly a better option than Rashod Hill.
If not this week, Minnesota has to work on something at least by the bye week in order to be more effective offensively. The Vikings may be able to beat some teams with one touchdown and a mess of field goals, but most opponents will take some more efficient and effective plays from the offense.
