If the Minnesota Vikings are interested in possibly adding another cornerback after the recent injury to Patrick Peterson, who are some of the free agents they should consider?
Near the end of their Week 6 win over the Carolina Panthers, Minnesota Vikings cornerback Patrick Peterson suffered a hamstring injury that ultimately landed him on the team’s injured reserve list.
With his designation, Peterson will now be sidelined for a minimum of three games. His injury couldn’t come at a worse time too as the Vikings will be entering the hardest part of their schedule following their bye in Week 7.
The three contests Minnesota won’t have Peterson on the field for (Dallas Cowboys, Baltimore Ravens, Los Angeles Chargers) all have starting quarterbacks that are averaging at least 265 passing yards per game this season.
The Vikings will be relying on guys like Cam Dantzler, Bashaud Breeland, and Mackensie Alexander to help make up for Peterson’s absence.
But with an extra week to prepare for their Week 8 matchup against the Cowboys, it might be a good idea for Minnesota to take a look at the free-agent market and see if there are any experienced corners that are worth adding to the roster.
If the Vikings take this route, who are some of the current free-agent cornerbacks that could help fill the void in their secondary while Peterson recovers from his injury?
