3 free-agent CBs for the Vikings to consider after Patrick Peterson injury

Desmond Trufant
Once viewed as one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL, Desmond Trufant is nearing the end of his time in the league. However, Trufant might still have enough in the tank to help the Vikings while Patrick Peterson is recovering from his injury.
A first-round draft pick in 2013, Trufant has actually appeared in two games this season already as a member of the New Orleans Saints. But the Saints decided to release the veteran corner after their first two matchups of the year and he has remained a free agent since.
Trufant spent the first seven seasons of his pro career with the Atlanta Falcons after they picked him with the No. 22 selection in the 2013 NFL Draft. During his time with the Falcons, he racked up a total of 79 pass breakups, and he intercepted 13 passes.
He’s been hanging around the NFC North recently as he spent the 2020 season with the Detroit Lions and he was among the final roster cuts of the Chicago Bears earlier this year. So why not continue to stick around in the division and see if he can make an impact for Minnesota?
