3 free-agent CBs for the Vikings to consider after Patrick Peterson injury

Darqueze Dennard
Like Desmond Trufant, Darqueze Dennard is a former first-round draft pick who spent the majority of his NFL career with one team.
Dennard was selected with the No. 24 pick in the 2014 draft by the Cincinnati Bengals. He ended up sticking around with the Bengals for six seasons before spending the 2020 campaign with the Atlanta Falcons.
Despite the fact that he was a first-round draft pick, Dennard has only started a total of 30 games in his seven-year tenure in the NFL. However, he has appeared in 85 matchups during his time in the league, so he still has plenty of valuable experience.
Earlier this year, he attempted to earn a spot on the Arizona Cardinals roster, but they decided to part ways with him before the start of the regular season. Since then, he’s just been waiting for his next opportunity, most recently working out for the Indianapolis Colts.
Dennard should be familiar with the defensive scheme that the Vikings currently run since it’s very similar to what Cincinnati used for their defense during his first few years in the league. Could his familiarity with the defense make it easier for him to help Minnesota during the next few weeks until Peterson returns?
