Eric Wilson – LB

Current Team: Philadelphia Eagles

In 2020, Eric Wilson was given a great opportunity to start in 15 games for the Vikings after Anthony Barr went down with a season-ending injury in Week 2.

While in Minnesota’s starting lineup, Wilson set single-season career highs for tackles (122), pass breakups (eight), and interceptions (three). His performance in 2020 ultimately resulted in the Eagles signing him earlier this year to try and help improve their defense.

So far, things aren’t going very well for Wilson in Philadelphia. He’s played poorly both against the run and in pass coverage, and he’s already missed more than a handful of tackles for the Eagles this season.

Barr is back for the Vikings this year, but the team’s linebackers behind him aren’t very good once you get past Nick Vigil on the depth chart.

Wilson is playing poorly for the Eagles this season, but look at what happened once Everson Griffen returned to Minnesota this year after spending the 2020 season elsewhere. The former Vikings linebacker still has the potential to help his old team if he were to return this year.

So in an effort to not only improve the team’s linebacker depth, but to add another playmaker to their special teams unit, Minnesota should think about making a deal to bring back Wilson.
