Oli Udoh – RG

Oli Udoh has been a great story for the Minnesota Vikings this season. He came out of nowhere to earn the starting right guard job in the preseason, beating out veteran Dakota Dozier and rookie Wyatt Davis.

He played very well to start the season, earning high grades and absolutely destroying defenders as he opened up big lanes for Dalvin Cook and Alexander Mattison. His play began to fall off a little when the Browns came to town, and he had another sub-par performance against the Lions. Those were a little disappointing, but his game against the Panthers was by far his worst yet.

Udoh was flagged multiple times for holding. These flags usually came after Dalvin Cook ran for big yardage on first down, setting the team up for a solid drive. The infraction would move them back, and eventually, the drive would stall. Udoh also wasn’t the usual beast in the running game, and was an all-around liability on the Vikings line, that for the most part, had a pretty solid showing against the Panthers.

Udoh needs to go back and watch a lot of film during his bye week break. He needs to figure out what he’s doing differently from the first three games of the season and correct his mistakes. If he can’t figure it out against the Cowboys, it could be Wyatt Davis time at right guard for the Vikings.
