Former Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks Teddy Bridgewater and Case Keenum will face each other on Thursday when the Denver Broncos take on the Cleveland Browns.

When the Denver Broncos and Cleveland Browns kick off Week 7 with a matchup on Thursday night, Minnesota Vikings fans will notice several familiar faces on the field and on the sidelines for both teams.

For the Broncos, former Vikings first-round pick Teddy Bridgewater will be starting under center and receiving the play-calls from former Minnesota offensive coordinator Pat Shurmur.

Then over on the Browns side of the field, an injury to Baker Mayfield has former Vikings quarterback Case Keenum making his first start since 2019, and calling the plays for him will be another former Minnesota offensive coordinator in Kevin Stefanski.

Who will come out on top in the Thursday night battle between two former Minnesota Vikings quarterbacks?

This matchup between Denver and Cleveland is an important one for each team as they both currently have a 3-3 record and a win this week could play a significant factor in this season’s AFC playoff race.

We mentioned earlier that this contest will be the first time Keenum will be in the starting lineup for a team since the 2019 season. That start came in a Week 17 game against the Dallas Cowboys when the veteran quarterback was a member of the Washington Football Team.

As for Bridgewater, he’s been the starting signal-caller for the Broncos since he beat out Drew Lock for the job this past summer. In six starts this season, the former Minnesota first-round pick is completing 70.2 percent of his passes for 1,514 yards, 10 touchdowns, and four interceptions.

Interestingly enough, both quarterbacks ended their tenure with the Vikings in 2018. The careers of Bridgewater and Keenum have certainly taken very different paths since leaving Minnesota.
