On Saturday, the Minnesota Vikings reportedly took the time to scout a big NCAA football game to see some potential NFL players in action.

It’s a bye week for the Minnesota Vikings. With no game on the schedule for the team this week, the front office is still busy preparing for the NFL trade deadline and evaluating their current situation moving forward.

The job of a front office is never done. There are always some things they can do to either improve their current situation or set themselves up for future success. And it appears the Vikings were taking a look at a few future NFL players on Saturday.

According to Darren Wolfson of KSTP on Twitter, the Minnesota Vikings were taking in a big NCAA matchup on Saturday and got a look at some impressive players.

What game did the Minnesota Vikings check out?

The number six Michigan Wolverines took on the unranked Northwestern Wildcats in a lopsided affair this week. The 33-7 final score in favor of the maize and blue didn’t tell the whole story, as the Wolverines were absolutely dominant throughout the matchup.

Wolfson noted that Northwestern running back Evan Hull scored their team’s only touchdown on a big 75-yard run that left every defender in the dust. He also added that Hull played his high school football at Maple Grove High School in Minnesota.

Still, there were plenty of other impressive players to check out during this game. Michigan rushers Blake Corum and Hassan Haskins each ran for over 100 yards and found the end zone twice during the game. Plus, Wolverines quarterback Cade McNamara connected on 20 of his 27 pass attempts.

It’s no surprise that the Minnesota Vikings would want to get a front-row seat to watch the undefeated Michigan Wolverines in action. Maybe one day Vikings fans will be watching a player from this team on Sundays in a purple and gold jersey.
