Vikings RBs and TEs vs. Cowboys LBs and SAFs

The Cowboys have done a great job of stopping the run so far this season. Running backs have only rushed for 396 yards in six games against Dallas but they have made up for it in the passing game. This will have to be a point of emphasis for the Vikings on Sunday Night.

Cornerbacks have not been great for the Cowboys and their safeties are not the best in coverage either. Former Minnesota safety Jayron Kearse is the team’s leading tackler but the Dallas defense has given up a lot of yards to running backs and tight ends. Running backs have racked up 299 receiving yards with tight ends adding 364 yards and four touchdowns.

No matter how you slice it, the Cowboys are going to give up a ton of yards through the air. Tyler Conklin has had some quiet weeks and some breakout performances this season but this sets up nicely for him. If rookie running back Kene Nwangwu makes his debut, he could be a huge bonus out of the backfield as well.

This matchup appears to be a shootout on paper. Both offenses have the weapons and desire to score points in a hurry but the Vikings have shown a tendency lately to keep games close and low-scoring. Halloween Night is looking like a fun, but scary matchup for Minnesota.
