Since their very first season in 1961, which trades made by the Minnesota Vikings over the years have resulted in the most disappointment for the franchise?

Trades are not something the Minnesota Vikings have ever shied away from, especially since Rick Spielman was promoted to be the team’s general manager in 2012.

Most recently, the Vikings just sent defensive end Stephen Weatherly over to the Denver Broncos in exchange for a 2022 seventh-round draft pick. Back in August, Minnesota shipped a fourth-round selection in the 2022 NFL Draft to the New York Jets in order to acquire tight end Chris Herndon.

So far this year, the Vikings have made a total of four trades. Knowing this, it wouldn’t be too surprising if Minnesota made another deal before the upcoming trade deadline on November 2.

Most of the trades made by the Vikings in the past have come with some immediate optimism. The general feelings surrounding these deals tend to lean towards a hope that they will result in success for Minnesota.

However, not every trade has turned out well for the Vikings during their existence as a professional football franchise. Which deals made by Minnesota during their history have resulted in the most disappointment?
