The QB situation in Dallas

According to reports, Dak Prescott will know sometime on Saturday whether or not he will be starting against the Minnesota Vikings or if Dallas’ backup quarterback will be handling those duties on Sunday.

No matter how you look at this situation, it is a positive thing for the Vikings. Either Dak will be playing with a banged-up calf and not be 100% or a quarterback who is not nearly as talented as Prescott will be throwing passes.

If Dak can’t go, Cooper Rush will likely get the start for the Cowboys. Rush has only attempted three passes in his career since joining Dallas as an undrafted free agent, completing one of those throws for two yards. Even though he has a nice ginger beard and is probably a decent guy, his lack of experience should make him a much less scary option than Prescott.

No matter what decision is made on Prescott, expect the Minnesota Vikings to put extra pressure on the Cowboys’ quarterback all game long to help with cornerback Patrick Peterson on the shelf for now. Getting hits on Prescott or Rush would help to shake things up against an offense that can totally get things done on a regular basis.
