After six weeks of the season, how have the defensive free agents added during the 2021 offseason performed during their time with the Minnesota Vikings so far?

During the offseason, the Minnesota Vikings spent a lot of resources on getting the defense back to where it once was. A few of the free-agent signings have worked out very well, some others not so much. However, there is no doubt that the Vikings’ defense has improved significantly from last year.

During the first few games of the season, the Vikings’ defense had a major issue stopping the run. This appears to have gotten a little better over the last two weeks. The Vikings do boast one of the best passing defenses in the league, averaging the least yards per game through the air over the last 3 games (170.3).

The Vikings have been playing some good football over the last few weeks on defense. They rank number one in 3rd down defense and number one in sacks. The Vikings have six new starters on the defensive side of the ball.

The free-agent signings have been a massive part of the Vikings’ defensive resurgence in 2021, here are the grades through six weeks for the Vikings’ free-agent signings.
