5 biggest takeaways from the Vikings loss to the Cowboys in Week 8

There is too much talent on this offense to be so bad
First, let’s say one thing: Kirk Cousins is a good quarterback. When he has time in the pocket and talented players around him, he can usually keep a team in a game thanks to his accuracy and decision-making. That said, this was an extremely frustrating game because Cousins and the Minnesota Vikings offense should be so much better.
On a positive note, Adam Thielen played well. He had nine passes tossed his way and caught six of those for 78 yards and a touchdown. However, that is where the positives end because Justin Jefferson had only four targets, Dalvin Cook only had two balls tossed his way. And K.J. Osborn got three looks from Cousins.
This is no knock against players like Tyler Conklin (seven targets) and C.J. Ham (three targets), but Minnesota needs to figure out a way to push the ball down the field to their receivers, even if the offensive line is struggling.
With the investments that the team made in the NFL Draft as well as big contract extensions for players like Dalvin Cook, Brian O’Neill, and Kirk Cousins, 16 points and zero points off turnovers should have the Vikings front office curious about their investment in this team.
