The Minnesota Vikings got bad news when they learned about a severe injury to Danielle Hunter. Who can the team acquire to soften the blow?

It’s a tough time for the Minnesota Vikings. Sitting at a 3-4 record through the first eight weeks of the 2021 NFL season, the team was embarrassed in a prime-time matchup that saw them lose to the Dallas Cowboys on Halloween night.

Even worse than the loss, Minnesota lost their star defensive end, Danielle Hunter, for the season and now must look for a player to step in and fill his role as a starting pass rusher to compliment Everson Griffen.

The Vikings do have some young players on their roster who may be ready to step up. Guys like D.J. Wonnum, Patrick Jones II, and Kenny Willekes would likely love the opportunity for more playing time, but there are some options outside of the current roster that may be worth a look.

With the trade deadline today and some great players that can either be signed as free agents or poached from the practice squad of other teams, there are options that should be explored by the Minnesota Vikings.

Here are six players who might be able to help fill the gap left from the injury to Danielle Hunter.
