5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Baltimore Ravens – Week 9
By Chris Schad
Vikings’ free fall will continue against the Ravens
When the Vikings lost to the Cowboys, it felt like there needed to be a change. The problem is that it was never going to be during the regular season.
Since buying the team prior to the 2005 season, the Wilfs have made a midseason firing once and that was after Brad Childress went behind their backs to cut Randy Moss in 2010. Other than that, they’ve waited to let the season play out.
Last year, it cost them as Mike Zimmer led his team back to .500 after a 1-5 start. But at the end of the year, the Vikings proved themselves to be just another team.
Zimmer has already been the beneficiary of a couple of lucky bounces and a pair of late comebacks, but eventually, that luck also wears off. Against Dallas, the Vikings could have put the game away, but instead did things like call back-to-back timeouts and throw the ball away on a last-second Hail Mary.
The Vikings are simply not a winning football team right now, and even if they become one, it’s nothing more than a seven-to-eight win team.
Prediction: Ravens win 34-20
