Brian Daboll (Buffalo Bills offensive coordinator)

At 46-years-old, Daboll has more experience than some of the other names mentioned on this list. However, he still has yet to uphold the mantle of NFL head coach.

That should change this offseason, as he has been one of the main contributors to the improvement of quarterback Josh Allen and the recent success the Buffalo Bills have been enjoying.

Teams around the league have taken notice of Daboll’s success as the Bills offensive coordinator and he is all but guaranteed to be offered a head coaching job this offseason.

Daboll was named Buffalo’s offensive coordinator in 2018 after helping Alabama defeat Georgia in the 2018 National Championship. Daboll is largely credited with the emergence of Allen, who has seen drastic improvements in every statistical category while working with the Bills offensive coordinator. Allen’s leap in QBR from 49.4 in 2019 to 81.7 in 2020 is the largest QBR increase in NFL history.

With an offense and an entire team lacking an identity, hiring Daboll as their next head coach would be one of the best ways for the Vikings to reopen their Super Bowl window.
