Will the Minnesota Vikings be in the hunt for a quarterback during the 2022 NFL Draft?

A 3-5 start to the season has left the Minnesota Vikings in a terrible spot heading down the final stretch of the season. The future of the franchise still has some bright spots, considering the offense is full of young talent, and a new coaching staff – if that is the direction they take – could elevate the unit as a whole.

With Dalvin Cook and Justin Jefferson setting the foundation of the offense, getting a cheap quarterback to help balance the salaries and provide a new spark in Minnesota could be exactly what the team needs.

Sure, Kellen Mond was selected in the third round of last year’s NFL Draft, but we have seen nothing to signify that he is ready to take charge. The Vikings have not activated him on game days while he develops throughout his rookie season. In my opinion, that probably still will not be enough.

Mond has a long way to go before he can be trusted as the starting quarterback. If the opportunity presents itself next spring, the Vikings need to look at other options. The future of this organization is in the hands of the next quarterback.

How do the top quarterbacks in 2022 stack up and how could they each thrive with the Vikings moving forward.
