5 Bold Predictions: Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Chargers – Week 10
By Chris Schad
The Vikings defense will be on the field for over 80 plays
The Vikings have to be gassed after staying on the field for 94 plays last Sunday but this week doesn’t figure to be any different.
Baltimore was able to stay on the field thanks to a steady running game that chewed the Vikings up. But while they were able to gore Mike Zimmer’s defense, it wasn’t the only reason why they were able to stay on the field.
The Ravens were extremely aggressive on going for it on fourth down, attempting to go for it three times in Sunday’s game. The Chargers are even more aggressive, ranking fourth in the NFL with 17 fourth-down conversion attempts.
While Los Angeles ranks sixth in the league with a 65.2 percent conversion rate, it’s the highest rate in the league for a team with the same number of attempts.
This places an added emphasis on making sure the Vikings get off the field on Sunday. If they can’t, it will give Brandon Staley’s aggressiveness a chance to shine and put the Vikings in an even bigger hole.
