3 most disappointing Vikings in their win over the Chargers
By Nik Edlund
Christian Darrisaw – LT
It is painful to admit it, but Christian Darrisaw did have an underwhelming performance against the Los Angeles Chargers. It was easily the worst performance of the rookie’s young career but even saying that, he did have plenty of solid plays on the day.
Darrisaw had his hands full with the Chargers’ edge rushers and finally, his inexperience showed through. He was flagged for some holding calls as he was beaten and tried to hang on for dear life to ensure his quarterback didn’t get killed. One of the flags erased a CJ Ham touchdown reception, proving to be very costly. He also whiffed on a couple of blocks, one that caused Dalvin Cook to get stuffed at the goalline, potentially taking six points off the board.
It is a little surprising that we hadn’t seen Darrisaw struggle much before this game. He missed basically the entire preseason with the injury to his core area that required surgery and he was far behind the eightball.
Darrisaw definitely looks the part of a future franchise left tackle. His positive moments have outshone his negative ones, and there’s no doubt he’ll learn from this game, study the film, and use it to get even better.
