Based on how this season has gone so far and how the upcoming offseason could potentially turn out, which current Minnesota Vikings players could be in need of a new team in 2022?

Nine games in, the Minnesota Vikings are a little more than halfway through their 2021 season. During their nine matchups this year, the Vikings have already experienced a wide variety of emotions.

Minnesota has already dealt with plenty of heartbreak this season as four of their five losses have been by four points or less. The Vikings have been on the other end of a close matchup multiple this year as well with three of their four wins being decided by seven points or less.

Minnesota is sitting with a 4-5 record after their first nine games and there’s still a good possibility of some major changes being on the horizon. Whether these changes end up being made to the coaching staff, front office, or their roster (or all three) remains to be seen.

The way everything is currently set up, the Vikings are projected to be a little more than $5 million over the salary cap in 2022. So if Minnesota wants to make any significant changes to their roster next year, they’ll probably need to make some difficult decisions.

Also, if the Vikings have a new coaching staff in 2022, they’re probably going to want to bring in their own guys, and get rid of some notable names that don’t fit the new schemes on offense and defense.

So as we attempt to look a little ahead to what might take place after the current season, who are a few current members of Minnesota’s roster that might need to look for a new team in 2022?
