Bisi Johnson – WR

A bit of a forgotten man this season with the emergence of K.J. Osborn, but who knows what sort of role Bisi Johnson might have had with the Vikings this year if he hadn’t torn his ACL this past summer.

After showing some flashes as a rookie in 2019, Johnson took a bit of a step back last season, and he ended up taking a backseat when Justin Jefferson exploded onto the scene.

Heading into this year’s training camp, some wondered if Johnson could emerge as Minnesota’s No. 3 receiver. Unfortunately, his knee had other plans as he tore his ACL during a practice session this past summer, and any chance of him hitting the field this season quickly vanished.

Johnson is still under contract for 2022 with the Vikings, but they might not have room for him on their roster next year.

The top three spots on Minnesota’s wide receiver depth chart are pretty much set for next season with Adam Thielen, Jefferson, and Osborn. The other remaining spots will likely come down to who looks the best between Johnson, Ihmir Smith-Marsette, possibly Chad Beebe if he re-signs, and any other receivers the Vikings decide to add during free agency and the draft.

Some didn’t think he was going to get past the final cuts this year, so Johnson being left off of Minnesota’s final 2022 roster wouldn’t come as a surprise to most.
