Former Minnesota Vikings running back Adrian Peterson was let go by the Tennessee Titans on Tuesday after only appearing in three games this season.

A few weeks ago, we saw the return of former Minnesota Vikings running back, Adrian Peterson, to the NFL after he was signed by the Tennesse Titans.

Less than a month later, Peterson is already back to being without a team this season after the Titans decided to waive the Vikings’ all-time leading rusher on Tuesday.

According to NFL Media’s Mike Garafolo, a return to Tennessee is possible for Peterson this year. But for now, the former Minnesota All-Pro is in need of a new team.

After departure from Tennessee Titans, is former Minnesota Vikings RB Adrian Peterson done in the NFL?

Prior to signing with the Titans, some believed that Peterson’s time in the league had already come to a close. But then Tennessee surprised everyone when they added the former NFL MVP to their roster after Derrick Henry suffered a significant injury in Week 8.

In his three games with the Titans, Peterson only rushed for a total of 82 yards and a touchdown on 27 carries in addition to catching four passes for eight yards. He appeared in 33 percent of Tennessee’s offensive snaps during his first two games with the team. But then his offensive snap rate fell to just 19 percent last week.

It’s possible that the Titans will attempt to stash Peterson on their practice squad if he clears waivers. However, is that something one of the greatest running backs in NFL history would be interested in?

If it turns out to be his only option, then maybe he might take up the offer. But if he doesn’t have any desire to sign with Tennessee’s practice squad, then it’s very possible that we’ve seen the last of Peterson on an NFL field.
